Being a cautious person, I bought spare runs pins as a precaution against misplacing my current ones on a dark winter's night when the rain is lashing down and the westerly wind is blowing at gale force. The really clever thing would be to remember where I have stored them!

Excellent. Makes cleaning the chicken house out much easier.

I haven't got the cube - yet. I am hoping to get one next year so that I don't have the dreaded red mite problem again... As I have 2 ex-batts mine tend to roost on the floor of the house as the others as and when I added them copied the Ex-Batts. This doesn't help with the red mite either. Before spending out on the Cube I wanted to make sure they would get on with the roosting bars so bought the replacement ones to trial. 3 of my 6 girls are using them but the Ex-Batts are now in the nest box lol. Still it is early days, and when I make the big change I'm sure it'll be fine. They seem quite nice & sturdy & easy to clean.

This is the only part of the cube product which falls down. It took my brother's cats (Bengals) 2 minutes to remove the pins (mind you they are escape artists). The design needs to be rethought - one long pin would be better as the gaps that the pins feed into are quite tight.

Very easy to put in and out and hygenic too. Worth the upgrade.

Easier to clean than wooden bars and reasonably sturdy, my hens are quite comfortable when they take themselves off to bed. One has cracked after only two weeks of use ! hence decided to have a spare set so that when the weather is pouring down can quickly swap them over for cleaning and drying.

Grey plastic with cute raised egg pattern on it. I pressume this is to give the chickens some grip, but it does make them a little less easy to clean. The plastic is flimsier than I had expected and one of the bars arrived broken, however Omlet replaced this quickly with no quibbling so ten out of ten for customer service. The bars come in two pieces which is much easier to move about than the old one piece wooden design. My only complaint would be they do not fit very snuggly together and leave a gap which could be big enough for a chickens foot or toe to slip through although to be fair this has not happened as yet.
