I fitted the door onto my wooden coop. I had to make a few adjustments to the coop but it was easy enough to fit and works well. It seems like quite a big door to me but perhaps that's inevitable with the amount of mechanism required to open and close the door. Also I have pekin bantams so maybe the big size would be needed for other breeds.
It's the only sideways opening automatic door I could find on the market in the UK. All the others are pulled open from above, which wouldn't have worked with my coop.
Having it means I don't have to get up early when the days are long so it's one less stress to deal with. Also means it'll be easier to leave the chooks in someone else's care if we go away.

This automatic coop door is a good product, but took a while for our chickens to get in the coop in time before it shut. The light sensor is pretty sensitive and shut when it was just a bit lighter than our chickens preferred to come in to roost. There is an adjustment, however we had it set for the darkest setting with a delay. Could use a bit more of a range, but they are starting to be more successful so there is hope!
Relatively easy to fit, I haven't started using the fully automatic timer function yet as I am settling in the new hens. I think it will be really useful though. My main concern is that when pressed to open, the doors has started shutting again (doing the open/ shut twice, for some reason) on occasions, and I'm worried the hens might get jammed in the doorway, although there is the guard function, it doesn't seem reliable. I've checked for obstructions/ fitting. The cable even with cabel ties hangs down on the inside which is a bit clumsy. It would be good to have a design feature so it can be tucked away securely.
Easy to install, set up and use! A little bit extravagant but worth every penny for some extra time in bed in the morning.
