Fantastic hutch
Bromley,
This hutch is great, keeps my mind at ease for the safety and the warmth of my piggies. The only downside is that it was slightly fiddly trying to put the run together and the instructions could’ve been slightly more clearer

Excellent hutch
An Omleteer, NSW,
This is the best hutch on the market in terms of funtionality and quality. The back door of the hutch does catch a bit if there is even the slightest uneven ground, which is a bit annoying. Other than that very happy with it.

This is great for an outdoor guinea pig hutch!
Danielle, Maryland,
I love that this hutch doesn't have any wire or holes for them to hurt their feet on. It's easy to clean and it provides a dry, warm space for our guinea pigs in the winter. We attached this to their larger outdoor run, and I stuff it with fresh hay for colder days so they can snuggle into the warm area. You do need to be careful to get the hutch door on properly... this is worth double checking if you have kids who help with cleaning. The bottom of the hutch door fits into a hinge like gap at the bottom. It's not complicated, but occasionally we don't get it on correctly. I always double check the door before we are done. This isn't an issue with guinea pigs (and ours are inside a garden and surrounded by electric fencing), but a larger animal like a chicken or rabbit might push the door open if it wasn't properly closed). The swinging door is easy to open and close. We close the guinea pigs out of the hutch (and in their run) while we clean the hutch. This helps so we don't accidentally have an escapee. Putting this hutch together initially isn't my favorite job (I've done it twice as we have a hutch for our rabbit too), but I'm getting faster. This is the BEST hutch for kids to clean honestly. It's easy and straight forward. It's easy to wash down.

Best on the market, but the design could be improved
Emma,
Bought two of these hutches a few years ago and have LOTS of experience using them. The best you can get on the market in terms of keeping piggies warm and giving them lots of nice space and a lasting product, much better than wood, but.... a few gripes! 1. Each little piece of the run has to be attached by dozens and dozens of plastic clickable attachments, which hurt your fingers after a couple of hours of assembly (yes, it will take you an afternoon especially anything bigger than the 1 metre run). The floor of the run comes as a nicely pre-assembled piece, why can't the rest come like that (I assume because none of the rest of the run is square...)? It all feels a little flimsy when you move the run (and hutch because they can't be detached from each other) around the garden to give piggies fresh grass and this can only really be done by two people, otherwise you have to drag the whole thing across the grass and it's heavy! 2. There is no quick release button to detach the hutch from the run, which I just assumed would be standard. This causes a few problems (related to the point above), one of them being that poop and straw get caught in the area just outside the hutch door where it meets the run and the ONLY way you can get rid of this (it goes solid with the piggies feet treading on it all the time) is by crawling into the hutch yourself (cobwebs n all!) and out into the run, easier said than done for some people! 3. The removable base of the hutch doesn't *quite* fit into the top of a wheelie bin, which is absolutely maddening because it means you have to remove the dirty bedding by hand first then chuck the rest into the green wheelie bin and some always spills on top of me (eew). It would just have required a bit more forethought from the designer to make this the perfect size to get into the top of the bin and help all of us owners out. 4. The back door sometime sticks and is difficult to get into place to lock, we can't work out why this is. 5. Nothing is SQUARE!!! I assume this is done on purpose to stop people buying products that aren't Eglu related, but it's quite a drag. If you want to enlarge your piggies property by adding runs that have straight edges, forget it. The Eglu has slanting edges everywhere. We've had so many escapees over the years as they sneak out of the little gaps that are created where the edges of the runs don't meet. 6. If your piggy refuses to return to its hutch (where you can lock it in and catch it from the back door) it will be almost impossible to catch him or her because there's only one door into the run from the front. Unless of course you climb into the run itself. 7. Piggies really dislike walking on the mesh floor, I think it hurts their tiny paws. They always seem to plan their route across to avoid stepping on the wire. I realise this is because rabbits dig, but guinea pigs don't so there's no need for a wire floor... Having said all that, this is the best you can get on the market, I just wish it was better / more simply designed.

6 Ft run
Shanna, Kansas,
I have 36 guinea pigs and felt this was safe. My herd get to rotate outside time in their eglu. I want to purchase 2 more when I have the funds,so they no longer have to take turns but instead, all go out at the same time. I love not worrying about the hawks and neighborhood cats.

I do like it but
Hannah,
Just received this and it was a nightmare to construct. I remained positive even though hubby was determined to send it back. Once constructed, the hutch and run are sturdy. The whole thing has a quality feel about it. My main gripe is access once the piggies are in. As I don’t possess go go gadget arms, I find it incredibly difficult to move things around or indeed retrieve the piggies from the run. Why, when you spend £350 on a cage, should you expect to pay out again to have another access door. I feel that a second access door should be as standard. That said, overall, I think this is a nice environment for guinea pigs.

Sturdy, however litter gets caught in the track where the base slides in and out
Alison,
We really like the Eglu Go, however it is difficult to reach in and clear the litter/bedding from the far corners of the internal area. This results in the base not always going in far enough, which prevents the back from being able to be closed properly. Everything else is great.

Perfect!
Naomi,
I've been desperate for a metal outdoor cage for my piggies for ages as wooden ones just don't last. I wanted an omlet but the price was holding me back. They're expensive but I have to say now we have three whole set up, it's so worth it. The guineas are so happy and the system is perfect and so easy to put together. Very happy with the purchase!

Spare hutch and run
Deirdre,
I bought this as I was unexpectedly getting two new bunnies and I already had two in my walk in Omlet run. I needed to keep the pairs separate but wanted something as big as possible for two rabbits. I used it for a week for this purpose, then one of my other rabbits had to spend time at the vets and recuperating indoors. I decided to split my big run for the others and then let my little one in the Eglu once he was a little better. Now everybody is in the big run and the Eglu is kind of obsolete at the moment. I will definitely use the hutch in the winter and work out where the run works best. The four metres and hutch is long and is murder to clean out unless you like tunnelling on your elbows! I want to buy a second door but they're out of stock. We'll, they're not really out of stock because they're available with the runs as a package. And I don't feel confident cutting a section out to apply the self fit door. At some point I'll probably run a tunnel from the Omlet to the Eglu run and use it as an extension or a spare. For everyday use and cleaning it's just too low unless you buy extra doors for access. I would opt for the walk in run every time. Can't fault that.

Fantastic Hutch
Mark, WA,
I have had the hutch for about two months now, and it is fantastic for our two boars. We upgraded from an Amazon timber job and the difference is night and day. Having experienced the quality of the Omley Eglu Go Up for our chooks, this was a no brainer. Our boys are happy to run around in the enclosed area, and definitely cozy during the night inside during our close to zero temperatures we have been having here. The unit is easy to move and clean.
