Verified Reviews for Omlet Chicken Fencing - High Poultry Netting With Door
Back to ProductSo practical! - Mags,
I bought the Omlet Chicken Fencing a month ago, which has made my life so much easier. The chickens can't get into my veggie garden and munch on all my seedlings. I can now also move the fencing around to allow the lawn to recover or when I want the chickens to turn over or compost part of the veggie garden. Love how it is changeable and movable easily.
It's a win-win for us all.

Keeping them in perfectly! - Latosha,
I was skeptical about this being sturdy enough to keep our chickens in but it’s doing the job perfectly!

checked all of my boxes - Jennifer,
I'm so happy I stumbled upon this product. I was looking to create smaller free range areas for different groups of chickens and this has allowed me to achieve that. Easy to put together and install. It will be easy to adjust the parimeter as needed. Materials are sturdy and durable.

Good product, but not perfect for everyone. - Dave,
I bought this last month to keep my new hens in until they were used to their new home, after which they will be allowed to roam. The fence is good quality and the instructions are pretty good, but it does take a good couple of hours to get right. I found some of the poles were difficult to assemble due to some of the quick release brackets being a bit out of line, but once they are assembled, the fence went up quite quickly. One word of warning though. Unless the area you are fencing off is completely flat, the plastic fencing will not sit straight. Any difference in height from one pole to the next will cause the fencing to twist and hang at odd angles. It's not a major issue although one of my hens did manage to fly onto one of the twists and get a bit tangled. I would also say that it isn't really tall enough to stop hens getting over, unless you clip their wings, it only comes up to about chest height. It is also a little expensive.
That being said, it does do the job and it is pretty good quality.

Love how easy it was to install - Casey, WA,
I purchased the fencing with every intention to keep a chicken-free portion of my back yard, but allow them to free range. And it did the job perfectly. Easy to set up, easy to move around, and sturdy even in our windy city. The door latch is secure but also able to be undone single handedly if needed. Very happy!

Does the job - Karen,
Bought this in an emergency to re-home our hens after a fire.
I don't think this is as good as the rope fencing we had before, we did struggle with assembly as the fence was very long and not as pliable as the rope) but once in place, it does keep the hens where they should be.

Great Construction - Elizabeth, Washington,
I do wish that there were a little more explanation in the instructions. You do not fully extend the poles until after you weave them through the netting because otherwise they will be too long to properly weave through the netting. Since this was not explained verbally in the instructions I had to retract them and reextend them during construction which was a headache as they are not easy to lengthen and shorten. The system works well and I am pleased with the overall construction, would recommend to other chicken owners.

Great product but not enough poles - Bek,
Fence arrived quickly, was a bit fiddly to put together but not too bad. However, when we watched the YouTube demonstration it said to space the poles 70cm apart. We only had enough in the kit to space them 2 metres apart. According to instruction booklet that was correct number for our kit, so it’s not like we’re missing any, there just aren’t enough. It means that the fence sags between the poles and doesn’t seem nearly as secure - even after adding the guy ropes. But disappointed after the price we paid for it.

Omlet Says: Hi Bek, Thank you for your comment. It is advised to choose a spacing of 70cm only for the gate. As you can see on our pictures, the rest of the poles are further separated in distance. We provide a standard number of poles with the fencing. If you feel like more poles would be beneficial to your setup, they are available to purchase separately on our website. Don't hesitate to contact us by phone or by email if you have any further questions. Yours, Clémence
Easy assembling - Steph,
Quick and easy to assemble and install, none of our chickens have attempted to jump over the fence. Very easy to move around and handle, compared to regular chicken wire. The design is sleek enough so you hardly notice it, much more appealing to the eye than wire.

Camping dog pen - Mark,
After much research I bought this to use as a pen for my dog when camping in our folding camper. I picked the 21m fencing as it gives greater range of options for use. I chose it because of the door, and the fact that I can position the door where I choose. The height was also a strong deciding factor as most other options were less than 1m tall. I have cut the fence in half to that I can position the door at the centre of the awning and with posts set at the full width of the awning I can then (dependant on the camp site and the space available) adjust the depth of the pen by how much of the fence I put down the sides of the camper. So rather than having to have my dog either enclosed inside the awning or on a lead and attached to a ground spike when outside she will now have free range of the camper, the awning and an enclosed, safe outside area. Omlet Chicken fencing with its 1.25m height, door and adjustable poles that can be placed where needed was the best option for me, and I expect it to work as well as it did in a freestanding trial in my garden when we go camping next week.
