How many chickens fit on a perch?
Depending on the size of your chickens, up to two could fit comfortably on the short rounded perch for chickens and up to five on the longer pole-to-run and pole-to-pole perches for chickens.
Can I change the position of the chicken perches later?
The perches are really easy to move around and reposition if you want to switch up your perch playground or add more accessories at a later date.
What pole height do I need to fit the Omlet Walk In Chicken Run?
The vertical chicken perch tree pole kit 5.5 ft to 7 ft. fits perfectly inside the full height Omlet Chicken Walk in Run.
How does the pole attach to the Walk In Chicken Run?
You can secure the pole to the ground with the supplied pegs, and the pole attaches to the roof with an angled cap that is screwed together on either side of the roof mesh.
Will I be able to attach this to my wooden enclosure?
Yes, with this chicken perch design you can use the wall brace or top cap to screw your pole to your wooden enclosure using the supplied wood screws.
What is the PoleTree system made from?
The pole consists of an aluminium pole, plastic foot/cap/connection components, rubber rings and shims, and steel fixings. The perches are made from eucalyptus wood and are attached with aluminium brackets, plastic shims, steel and plastic fixings. The Caddi is made from ABS, PE coated steel, and braided nylon. The Peck Toy is made from ABS, AS, and nylon braid. The pole treat dish is made from ABS.
Why is the wooden chicken perch cracked?
Eucalyptus is a very hard and strong wood, as it's a natural material you will find some splitting along the length of the pole, this is not a defect and is part of the wood's characteristics. It comes untreated, you can use it straight out the box or you can use a pet safe varnish, paint or wood stain. The splitting won't hurt any chickens roosting on it.
What is the ideal chicken perch height?
What height you choose to position your perches at depends on your flock. In the wild hens roost up in trees, so most will appreciate having tall perches to sit on. They might however need some practice to make it up the chicken tree, so it might be a good idea to start low and create a kind of chicken perch ladder for them to climb up.
What is the size of the chicken perches?
The Short Perch is 1 ft. 8 in, the Pole to Pole Run is 3 ft 5 in. and the Pole to Run Perch is 3 ft. 6 in. long. All designs of the perches have a diameter of 1.3 in.
How big should a chicken perch be?
The ideal chicken perch size depends on your chickens, but for the average laying hen, the chicken perch diameter should be between 1-1.5 in. The PoleTree perches are 1.3 in. Make sure you have enough perch space for all hens in your flock, so no one gets left out.
Can I place the accessories wherever I want on the poles?
Yes. The only exception is the treat dish, which can’t be fitted around the slightly narrower, extended part of the vertical pole at the top.

The hens absolutely love it. I've 16 hens and during the warmer months some of the hens love to sleep out on the perches. I only had 2 perches before and every night they'd argue over who got a perch. Now we have this any of them that want to sleep out can do. They also use it during the day and it's one of the best things I've bought for them.

The hens love it
I purchased a pole tree set up just like this one about a year ago for my walk in run. The hens absolutely love it. The enjoy hanging out on the perches during the day and eating snacks out of the treat holders. This was very easy to set up and the ladies took to it right away.

Spoiled for choice
Please note, my perch was customised. I have four perches and a fifth pole to run perch. Great design, and worked on the slope fine, as I knew it would. My boys haven’t moved in yet, but I am sure they will love it. Fabulous quality and looks stylish. It wasn’t as easy as I would have liked to build, but I am a bit hopeless and I was tired. I got there in the end though and now I’ve built one, I will avoid silly mistakes next time.
