The cube is fantastic. We had the wee eglu but upgraded to the cube when we got six hens as there wasnt enough room in wee elu. So much room inside for the hens. Higher off the ground so easier to clean. Large roomy laying box which would easily take 3hens at a time but they go in singly and spread out! Very easy to build it as well. On sunny days the girls sit underneath the cube in the shade. Took them a few days to get used to having to go upstairs to their house but they don't think about it now. Really good product.

Like many I debated for a long time before buying a Cube. We had a wooden coop for 2 years which did the job but I kept coming back to Eglu to read reviews and finally took the plunge and bought one. I am SO glad I did and question why I didn't get one in the first place! It is so easy to clean which is the absolute best bit for me - it used to take me an hour to clean the wooden one and we suffered with red mite on more than one occasion. Yes they are expensive but the resale value is excellent should I ever decide to stop keeping chickens - i know as I missed out on many ebay auctions for second hand ones! It looks good, is easy to use and the chickens seem very happy. The feeders are much better than the ones I used to use - the rain doesn't get in to the food and they hold lots of food so I can leave them overnight if necessary. I had a problem with my Grub which Omlet changed for me so I am impressed with both the product and the service. Would recommend!

Hi Overall a good product just one snag. Having read on other forums that the ladder is a bit short, this is what i have found also. Only having owned it a month i have had a chicken damage its leg and now stays outside. I have had to place a box at the bottom of the ladder to help her get onto the ladder. Maybe a modification to the ladder may be the answer. Other than that, i am very happy with it.

After much research we decided to go for the Eglu Cube, in the past we have always had wooden houses and runs and they are so heavy, they rot and are a nightmare to clean. We needed a house on wheels and a run as the girls cant come out because of the foxes and the dogs. The dogs are all gundogs so as far as they are concerned all birds must be retrieved! So the cube is a safe environment for them to be in and peck the dogs noses. We got the metre extension which has definitely been worth it. The cube is so easy to move and the girls get fresh grass everyday. Cleaning them out is now enjoyable and so easy to do. A few people have mentioned that their chickens have struggled with the ladder, mine had no problem and spend a lot of the day hopping on and off it, no problems going to bed and they pile out in the morning quite happily. I don't have any negatives about the cube, even though it was quite expensive, the fact it is so easy to clean and move makes up for the cost. A great design and wish we had discovered them sooner. I have very happy, clean girls producing an egg each a day and making our breakfasts so yummy!

I know this is expensive but it is so worth every penny. Previously we had the Eglu GO which is great, but since we wanted more hens (we now have 4) we went for the Elgu CUBE with the extension. Bit tricky to put together - didn't help that it was pouring with rain at the time and windy! We had to leave it and continue the next day as the roof didn't fit correctly. One of the pre-drilled bracket holes had been put in the wrong place it was too high by about quarter of an inch and meant the roof couldn't slide. However, my husband added a washer to make the sliding bracket fit better and it's now fine. All in all I would recommend the Cube to anyone - it really is so very easy to clean and the hens love it! Great that you can add the extension at a later date - as I do think that without it the Cube run looks really small.

We have had the Eglu for a couple of months. It is perfect for our girls. Its strong and robust. We looked at lots of other chicken housing but always came back to the Eglu. We feel happy in the knowledge that it is fox proof, in fact the local fox had one look and sniff at the Eglu and and knew it had no chance to get in! Our friends call it a chicken pent house as its looks so good. The customer service is fantastic. We got a bit stuck putting it together but Eglu sent over an Eglu person to help finish constructing it. A really helpful team. Many thanks.

All though thrilled with the above product I wish that all the opening were all on the same side enabling me to put in one static place if wanted too

We have had wooden traditional hen coups for many years.so were slightly anxious to change but recent infestations of mite and time consuming routine cleaning and disposal of bedding etc along with the creosoting etc Brilliant wish we'd bought one when they first came out. So much so that we are thinking to buy a second one as the old wooden house is still in use in the other chicken run.The hens are happy and we are happy! A dream to clean and it looks good in a very rural setting.we love the concept of moving it around too. We work long hours and have lost many hens in the pat to Mr Fox so to be able to move them round giving them fresh ground and keeping them safe is a bonus.the run for the poor chicks left in the original wooden run gets very worn out when they are shut in during the working week. Why 4 stars? 1. Moving it! Not easy on slopes and how do we move it? Pull on the run but will that stress the fixings etc push and it nose dives. Would love some handles at both ends! To give it lift and grip!! 2.we think the area under the house should be made of lightweight plastic walls with the fox proof wire skirt attached rather than the wire netting used on the rest of the run.this would give the girls better protection from the elements. The rain shade cover is good but I never put it in the right place at the right time but we do live in an exposed area. So just ideas really because we love it and will be getting another one soon! I am in the US and purchased a cube just recently. I absolutely love it! Financially it was a huge purchase for me and I also needed to rent a truck to go pick it up at a shipping terminal. Although I'd never want to do that again once the cube was home and I assembed it (easily) I've enjoyed it very much. It's SUPER easy to clean and the girls love that I move the cube and the extended run around the back yard every other day. I also have a spot that they've denuded where I park them and add shavings, in order to let the grass recover. Then hens are content and I've just been very happy with my purchase. Hopefully some day more people in the States can experience a cube - perhaps by having a distributor and shipping right to a customer's doorstep. That would make a HUGE difference.
