I treated my chucks to the extension one Xmas (second hand via Omlet website - excellent value and condition!) but about a month ago I accidently ripped the original sunshade which had gone brittle with 3 years or so of sun, rain, snow etc. The new cover fits perfectly and actually gives better protection from the sun (as it's oblong rather than a triangle) - and in particular from all the heavy rain we've recently been experiencing. The quality is much better than the original shades as it's a sort of heavy duty, rubberised, plasitc type material. Chickens are happy and therefore so am I!!

I am so glad I bought this! With all the rain we have had lately it has been a godsend for the hens and myself. The hens have stayed dry and I haven't had to clean heaps of quagmire mud off the inside of the hen house. Also, the fact that it goes down one side means you can fit it according to the way the wind is blowing.

Had the sun shade, but decided that I would go for a heavy duty cover, glad I have now with the amount of rain we've had lately.

I have a south facing garden and I wanted some shade for my hens. The cover is good quality (better than the one I received with my rabbit eglu). During the recent torrential rain it has also provided shelter. I intend to buy the clear, full length one for the winter.

Gives a useful increase in protection to that provided by the free sun shade. However I did expect it to provide cover to grade on one side whilst still giving a reasonable level of protection on the other. This it does not do. Construction quality seems good and delivery was quick.

Fits really well and keeps the food and girls dry. Wouldn't want to be without it.

I have 3 cats that love to sit on top of my chooks and watch them... the cats aren't always good with their claws, but this has stood up to their beating so far... I'm very happy with this

The cover is an excellent addition to the Eglu and has provided great protection for our Chickens during the recent wintery weather.

Provides some shelter from the driving rain for the hens allowing them to feed a stay dry. Keeps that area of ground less muddy for a little longer. Sturdy in the high winds.
