We ordered this 3 week ago, it come last week and it took about 8 hour to assemble. We put are birds in Saturday night and they have got in the Omlet at night, we have to put them in after dark. I hope they start going in on there own soon.

I moved my 8 6-week-old chicks in 2 weeks ago. They took to it right away. The coop is well thought out though I'm pushing the capacity. Assembly was a bigger challenge than it should have been. Omlet has apparently small design changes over time and the video instructions are somewhat out of date. The written instructions were not easy to follow.

When you buy add ons with the coops, make sure you look at those specific instructions because some items differ a little bit between the instruction manuals.

I really love my Eglu Cube. The instructions to put it together were really good and I like that it's so easy to clean and to access the egg and roosting compartment. Most important I feel confident my hens are safe at night. I particularly wanted something I could move easily around my garden on my own every couple of days, but I find it a struggle to hitch the wheels up and to move with the run attached, and it is not easy to remove the run once it's been attached.

The coop and run are working great for my 4 hens. The instructions stated that it should take about three hours to assemble, but it took about twice that (a little here and there). We used a lot more zip ties to hold the run together than provided, but it seems fairly sturdy. Definitely meets the need!

.....but the instructions are horrible. May I suggest a rewrite (redraw) by someone who has actually built the cube? I decided we could make a drinking game out of building the cube, that you would have to take a shot every time someone said "these instructions are awful/stupid/terrible". Fortunately, we never followed through on the game or we all would have been in comas. It took many hours over several evenings but we finally did it. Thank goodness I do not plan to ever take it apart . Otherwise, the finished product looks to be promising. I have wanted to get chickens again for awhile, but the idea of a st ationary coop and having it built was less than ideal. I wanted to have free range chickens but with a level of control. The cube offers me that and low maintenance. Laying chickens will be ready for occupation in about 4 weeks. Living in Wisconsin, I did add hardware cloth to the bottom of the run to keep raccoons from being able to reach through the wire and grab a chicken by the neck. Happy with my purchase when all is said and done.

Our two chickens have been using the cube for a couple of weeks now and seem very happy in it. I think that one improvement would be to have a knob or notch on the internal sliding door. I find I have to reach right in to pull it open which requires me to open the rear door quite wide. This means the chickens try to get out the back. Normally, not a problem but not great when they are being kept in for avian flu purposes.

Setting up takes much longer than claimed. Clips are sometimes difficult to handle.

I purchased the Omlet Eglu cube, 13ft run, with the wheels. It took my husband and I about 3 hours to put together. We read all the directions and watched all the videos. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND WATCHING THE VIDEOS! They’re on YouTube. The coop has definitely held up, we have a lot of raccoons and foxes in our area. I have seen where they have attempted to get into the coop but have not been able to. I was concerned about the run being held together with plastic zip ties and plastic connectors but it’s definitely secure! The only changes I would make would be that the door was made a little bit bigger so adults can actually enter the coop. I’m 5’6” and I struggle to get through. I would also say the price is higher than what I expected it to be. if you’re reading this much into purchasing the coop, you know it’s up there in cost. It’s definitely an awesome coop but it’s pretty pricey. I also purchased the screws to secure the bottom down and in my opinion they should have been included with the coop or at least offered at a discounted rate with the purchase of the coop. Also, unless you are going to move your coop once a week or more often, I don’t recommend purchasing the wheels, you still have to have two people to move it. Over all it’s a good coop!
