They do everything they say they will, good quality and nicely fitting - however - I think what I needed was a full length clear and down to the ground either side as the rain sweeps in under the exposed bits so the hens and their run still get wet, which is what I am trying to avoid. Beautiful and smart as it looks I have still had to put clear corrugated pastic on the sides as well.....

My ex-colony Hens needed some extra shelter as they arrived in a period of heavy rain and gales and with Omlet's roof covers and the addition of the wind breaks under the cube they had somewhere to keep dry, whilst they grew some feathers. Happy hens!

It feels kinder to offer protection from bad weather with the cover although the hens are probably hardier than we think! ps It would have been useful to have the full cover issued as standard with the initial Eglu startup kit.

Given you will want your animal to be able to use the run through the winter you can't afford to not have this item. It is incredibly good quality for the price and will be invaluable through the winter months.

We bought this as the chucks aren't the most intelligent of birds and would end up soaking wet in the rain. Not on;y does it provide good cover for the Cube's 2 metre run, but it also provides shade in the summer (what we had of it..) and shelter in the rain. On the odd occasion it becomes too hot and the clear part acts as a greenhouse, it can be folded back and fastened to just provide shade. Though, as mentioned in other reviews, it would greatly benefit from an extra fastening chords in the middle as it flaps a bit in the wind.
