Verified Reviews for Eglu Chicken Coop Runs

Overall delighted
Merilyn,
Putting it together was a bit of a nightmare - took two hours and needed help from two friends to put clips together - but that is probably why it is secure. The chickens took to it immediately and Julia laid her first egg within an hour! Hilary and Michelle produced the following morning and we have settled in to three a day. We kept them in the run for two weeks and finally risked letting them free range last Sunday. Each returned to the Pod to lay and took themselves to bed about 8:45pm then lights out at 9. We don't know what variety they are (bought from a local Portuguese chicken lady) but believe them to be about 5 months old so expect them to get a bit bigger - eggs are white, smallish with light yellow yolks but taste wonderful. Their role is to keep the pests under control - we have a tremendous snail problem - not good when you are trying to grow your own veg so fingers crossed for next year's harvest.

Would recommend.
Sarah,
Really like this product. Easy to screw into the ground and makes me feel happier that my eglu is more secure.

Makes all the difference
Sue,
We had two ladies living in the Go with 1 extension. When we introduced another 2 ladies this really wasn't big enough for four so we now have a 4 metre run, it gives us additional room for perches and logs as the extensions also add height to the standard 2m run. Would recommend ordering an extra door panel if you go to 4m as it is much easier to keep clean and get to additional food and water points.

Excellent
Irene,
The eglu go is light and easy to move around the garden which means that the chickens get a new supply of grass every few days and I don't have to do any mowing! It is also very easy to keep clean. I bought the pegs and they keep the run fixed firmly to the ground which gives me extra peace of mind, especially as I have seen a beautiful fox on several occasions who takes an eager interest in the chickens. I have had 2 eggs every day without fail, so the chickens are thriving on their organic layers' pellets. But the best thing is the company of the chickens - they are unfailingly delighted to see me (alright, the treats I bring are the main attraction). They adore rummaging around in the garden and the patio furniture is a favourite place to perch. I often sit with a book and a chicken settled on either side of me - very relaxing!

Excellent product
Janice,
Easy to use and easier to see when in the ground than the old metal ones. Only time will tell how long a life they have but so far I'm very pleased with these new pegs.

Excellent
Sue,
Makes all the difference, we have four girls in our Go and already had one extension. As they can't get out at the moment they just didn't look like they had enough room. The extra space really improves the area, because it is wider it gives them more scratching and bathing spaces and we have been able to add logs and perches to their space. Was definitely worth adding, and was cheaper than the cube, which I still have my eye on but this will keep me happy for a while at least!

all good
Adam,
I noticed these new Green screw pegs advertised at the same time the older Red and Blue ones were shown so I decided to go for the new ones especially as the colour marches my Green Cube. They do the job well, they are slightly bendy but its easy enough to screw them into the ground by hand. I have a 1m extension on the Cube and theres still plenty of pegs to go around the base. I found the advertising picture weird as the guy appears to be pushing the drill attachment through a vertical panel when in fact its meaning a panel on the ground but no matter Im pleased and would recommend. A little pricey but I think they're very good quality plastic and could be used time and time again without them breaking? Sorry to state the obvious but obviously the pegs will slip through the metal mesh unless you turn the handle top at right angles to the mesh.
