For some time now we were contemplating having chickens at home. This always seemed to be a good solution in terms of aesthetics and practically. I was always a little put off by the price. I admit I went overboard with the spec I ordered - I didn't need the full monty - but don't regret it as it gives me more flexibility. It arrived quite late in the day and I had already arranged to collect the hens (my fault) so it was a marathon assembly task in fading light. It went well, BUT it is a pain to install the run AFTER assembling the coop. I found out the hard way having assembled to coop quickly intending to attach the run the next day. I also didn't read the full spec properly and thought that a 2m run was 2m from the coop, not 2m from the BACK of the coop. Bear that in mind when working out how much space you need. My hens don't get on too well with the included feeders and prefer to scratch about in a wider tray. They are also now getting quite large and maybe it's getting cosy in there, or maybe the cockerel is getting the girls to behave (good luck with that!!!). I'm sure when the weather gets colder they'll be happy with the cosiness. At the moment Earl Ragnar (the cockerel) likes to keep one of the hens outside. I love the design, I love how easy it is to clean and keep clean. I love how easy it is to check the eggs and to open up and close down. I am very happy with the Eglu overall, but may have made some small changes with hindsight. The Gremlins seem to be very happy and settled in straight away. I also feel very happy that they are safe and secure at night. We have foxes! I recommend it, but also recommend checking your options before you splurge on all the options. Having said that, I just ordered the electric door (^_^)

Previously I had wooden coops but due to a major issue with red mite I decided to purchase an Eglu Cube. All 3 wooden coops have now been swapped with a Cube, delighted with them!

Love everything about the Eglu Chicken Coop.

I can’t say enough great things about this coop! I started out with a pre made wood coop that didn’t even last a year. This coop was the answer to all my problems! It is incredibly easy to clean and my girls love the nesting box! My egg production has actually gone up since they moved into this coop. I am in love with this coop and I will NEVER get anything different. GO OMLET!!!!!

This is the third coop that I have bought. All were highly rated and comparable in cost, but the Omlet is by far the best. It’s easy to assemble and clean, well designed and of a good quality. The feeder and water bowl are simple but of a good practical design. The only drawbacks is that plastic coop floor and the metal ladder are a little slippery for the chickens, and the coop lets in very little light. Good if you’re trying to keep the crowing down (if you’ve got a gent) but tough when you’re trying to coax the hens in at night. However, you can easily remedy tHis by putting a small battery operated pick light and using self adhesive grit tape on the stairs.

My first foray into chicken keeping, I was bedazzled by the array of hen houses available to me. I loved the traditional appearance of the wooden coops and it was a chance conversation with a relative who that made me decide on Omlet. A little space age in appearance, so soon got used to it and it blends in well. But that all cosmetic! The benefits: Easy to set up Very secure, with each component fitting perfectly Easy to keep clean Easy to move Designed to minimise the risk of parasite infestation I’m delighted with the coop and the hens love it too! They put themselves to bed as the sun goes down and all I need to do is shut the door! It’s carefully engineered to be safe, comfortable, both warm and cool, hygienic and easy to maintain. A very well made product.

We decided to get the Eglu Cube after our wooden coop got redmite. We had read that a product like the Cube could help reduce the issues we had. Since we have had the Cube, we have not had a single issue with redmite. I really like the design and practicality of the Cube which was easy to construct and it is so easy to maintain and clean. We have the automatic door from Omlet too which makes life so much easier when it comes to the chickens going to roost and getting up in the morning. I can't praise the Cube enough and our chickens love it too.

The delivery of the cube was fantastic. Came earlier than we expected, which was great as we only found out that we would get our rescue hens a week in advance. The cube feels sturdy and we feel like the hens are safe in their run. It did take them a few days to figure out where to go and to navigate the stairs but within a week they had the hang of it. It is expensive but this is reflected in the quality and we expect it to last a long time. One thing to note while the assembly was ok on the whole we found those double clips to be very tough and difficult to close but hopefully we won’t need to do it again.

I love my Eglu Cube set-up. This coop is so easy to clean, and my flock of 6 love it. I have the auto door and coop light, and I never worry about my chickens at night - this coop is like Fort Knox. I love the size of it and the way it looks. I am so happy I didn't get a wooden coop, the Eglu gives me peace of mind.

I've had chickens for a few months now, and the Cube is so easy to clean. Every day I knock the poo off the roosting bars into the tray, give it a spray and wipe, and then change the newspaper in the tray. Once a week I take the bars and tray out and give them a good clean, and change the nesting material. I have 4 large hybrids and there's plenty of room. My Cube has the 2m run it came with attached to a 4x2m walk in run. They are pricey but worth it.
