Verified Reviews for Chicken Feeders & Waterers

Definitely a conversation starter once the chickens see you with it....
Joseph,
This is brilliant, to be honest....I had tried to go cheap and find or make something similar, but ended up ordering it from Omlet. At first sight, the four chickens were deathly afraid of it as it swung back and forth like the sword of Damocles, but eventually they learned how to time their movements and grab at whatever greens I had happened to fill it with....the pinata that never breaks....my chickens tend to fancy kale (why is this cut and grow vegetable so expensive at the supermarket????)...with these treats, they haven't even begun to show an interest in worms....

Brad,
Love this for all the 'scratch and dent' veggies from the garden. Makes them last longer, keeps them clean and is a fun way for the chickens to stay engaged.

Ok, some issues
Claire,
The feeder holds a good amount of food and attaches well to the mesh. However, clipping the lid on and off is so hard (I have given up on the front clip that has never closed) that I now aim the food through the holes. I have 2 and have the same problem on both. Also you need to tip the feeder to clip it on which can spill a full feeder and also the water version.

Excellent
Andrea,
We moved our 2 chickens from a small area to a larger run but still wanted to use the Glug & Grub containers but the new run was not suitable to attach them to the wire netting So the Feeder Drinker Stand was perfect to attach the Glug & Grub containers.

Linda,
Our girls absolutely love it! We put apples, greens, corn on the cob in and they gobble it up. Our hens are no longer bored and eat food in the holder that they won't touch otherwise. It's a win win for them and us.

Chickens like it
Dennis,
The chickens seem to like pecking at it, keeps them amused. The string could be (way) longer.

Happy Hens
Julie, Northaptonshire,
Our girls love this toy. Generally one does all the work and the others get all the treats but it seems to keep them happy and entertained. A little messy to fill but I just fill it in the chickens run so they end up with easy pickings.

Not perfect
Jill,
This feeder attaches securely to the mesh wall and keeps the food dry. But after a few months of use I have identified a few problems: it's quite big and it's impossible to make sure the oldest food is consumed first as you just top it up on top of the oldest food; it is extremely difficult to clip and unclip to empty and clean (Omlet promised me a replacement one in case mine was faulty but this has failed to materialise); and finally, my girls now have damaged feathers on their chests because the edge of the feeder when they put their heads in and out is abrasive. I wondered what was causing it and have now worked it out.

Omlet response:
Good afternoon Jill, Thank you for your feedback, we value all reviews as this helps better our product for the future. I am sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your feeder, I would be more than happy to send you a replacement feeder, perhaps the Cube feeder would be more appropriate for you as the edges have been rounded and there is not a lid, which would remove the risk of your chickens damaging their feathers? Please let me know if this would be of benefit to you. Many thanks, Omlet
Chooks now like it
Christa,
I am using this to give them something to play with, but also to give them more shell grit. So I mixed shell grit with bird seed and hung it in their Elgu. At first they acted scared of it, but once they got the idea, they emptied it over a few days.
