Mold in waterer and cups
I use this in a fully shaded run for six chickens and clean weekly. It has been moldy multiple times, the water cups have black mold and there are mold streaks down the inside walls. I clean thoroughly and use filtered water. It is a beautiful waterer but not at all crystal clean and algae resistant in my experience.

Thank you for taking the time to review this product.
To help keep the water fresh and safe for your flock, we recommend emptying, cleaning, and refilling the waterer every 3 days. The type of water used can also make a difference. Filtered water is very clean when added, but it does not usually contain antibacterial agents, which means bacterial growth may occur more quickly than with tap water, which often contains chlorine.
Where filtered water is being used, we would recommend changing the water daily to help keep it as fresh as possible.
Ok
I bought this for just two hens. One is happy to use it, the other doesn't like to, she seems fearful to put her head inside and therefore not be able to see around.
It would be better less deep.

Hi Kathleen,
We are sorry to read that your chicken does not seem interested in our Caddi Treat Holder.
Chickens are creatures of habit, it might take them a while to pick up this new habit. You could for example try different treats, or place it on the ground for a while, or in a different location. Sometimes, it only takes the dominant chicken to show interest, before the others follow.
We hope that you find a solution, don't hesitate to get in touch with us as well for further advice.
Yours,
Omlet Customer Service Team
The feeder is too deep
Pros: convenient, easy to hang on chicken cage, keeps food clean and dry.
Cons: the container is too deep and the adult chickens (RIR, and BSL) can’t or will not get the food from the bottom of the feeder. I am using plastic containers in the bottom of the feeder to raise the food level. It is not the best solution but it keeps from wasting a lot of food.

Hi Nancy,
Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your Eglu Cube feeder.
We are sorry about what you described regarding the depth of the feeder. In your case, you might want to try to install in on the ground, to see if that makes any difference maybe. Chickens might need some time to adjust to the feeder as well.
Nevertheless, your feedback has been transferred to our product design team who will look for further improvements.
We stay at your disposal if you wish to forward anything else to us.
Best Regards,
Clemence

Fine, but watch overfilling
I have one of these as well as the one that comes with the Eglu GoUp, and I only use the one that came with the GoUp any more. I have 5 hens, and if it has 1 1/2 days worth of food, they flick it out of the feeder and it goes on the ground. After a few days, it's a lot of wasted feed. Might be fine as long as you don't overfill, but even when I don't I still get flicked food.

Hi Mr. Rooster,
Thank you very much for taking the time to write us a review.
Your feedback has been passed on to our product design team who will study further improvements on this product.
In the meantime, if you encounter that issue with your chickens, it is indeed a good advice to not overfill the feeder.
We stay at your disposal for any further information.

Flimsy, not the quality I expected
I have bought a number of coops and have been delighted with their quality. The Feeder Drinker Stand was very disappointing at £21.00 purchase price, I expected a more robust item. Most definitely
not worth the price paid.

Not perfect
This feeder attaches securely to the mesh wall and keeps the food dry. But after a few months of use I have identified a few problems: it's quite big and it's impossible to make sure the oldest food is consumed first as you just top it up on top of the oldest food; it is extremely difficult to clip and unclip to empty and clean (Omlet promised me a replacement one in case mine was faulty but this has failed to materialise); and finally, my girls now have damaged feathers on their chests because the edge of the feeder when they put their heads in and out is abrasive. I wondered what was causing it and have now worked it out.

Good afternoon Jill,
Thank you for your feedback, we value all reviews as this helps better our product for the future.
I am sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your feeder, I would be more than happy to send you a replacement feeder, perhaps the Cube feeder would be more appropriate for you as the edges have been rounded and there is not a lid, which would remove the risk of your chickens damaging their feathers?
Please let me know if this would be of benefit to you.
Many thanks,
Omlet
feed drinker
unfortunately had to stop using it because chickens nocked off the grub feeder twice, luckily i was around and could go in and re hang it. sorry but wouldn't buy it again :(

The girls won't use it
Well, it looks like a good idea and they both used to peck at drops on the bottom of the glug but they simply won't drink from the nipples. We showed them how it worked, Suki seemed to work out how it worked but Daphne didn't. We added the old glug back in and they drank like they'd been in the desert. We tried this for a week and it was like some sort of CIA deprivation torture - each time we brought another water source in they drank and drink and drank. Daphne even tried to stretch to drink from the top! So now its almost at ground level and they do drink from the top. As far as our girls are concerned a big thumbs down.
