I NEED HELP! My hamster is a winter white. He is about a year old. And I have noticed that he is walking tilted on one side. He is not walking in circles so I know he didn’t have a stroke. I don’t know if he is in pain or not. But I have noticed that every time when I pick him up he tries to bite me which is unusual. I looked up on the internet that it may be either an ear infection or a tumor. I don’t know how long he has been this way. I just noticed it tonight which is the 24th of February.

I have a syrian male hamster and he used to be very active but I went away for the weekend and when I came back, he couldn't walk and his eyes were glued shut and his head was tilting side to side. I dont know whats wrong with him but I don't want him to die. He has plenty of food and water.

In response to Duane on hibernation... My hamster was entering hibernation after we missed electricity in November. The temperature went down from 21 degree Celcius to about 17 deg Celcius in 7 hours. I saved my hammy by warming her up for 2 hours in my hands wrapped inside my shirt.

My hamster always shakes his head when we pet him and sometimes when he’s just laying there. I just adopted him a few days ago and i want to have him for as long as possible. i’ve researched and most likely it’s him warming up but i’m scared because what if it’s not. and nothing really shows up on why hamsters shake their heads.

hey, my female syrian hamster got really bloated/fat, which made me think she was pregnant... I had felt her sides of her belly which feel sort of like a balloon-like feeling kind of like she is pregnant (I've dealt with a pregnant hamster before), but recently, one side of her belly looks bigger than the other side.. is that normal when a hamster is going through pregnancy or a miscarriage? please help, I'm really worried.. :/

Unfortunately I’m not quite sure how old my hamster is. He is a teddy bear or long haired Syrian? He has had quit a few falls from dressed heights, pushed his way out of the cage. I have to wire the door shut. he is more than adventurous and daring poor sight or not. He has also had a run in with a few cats. He hasn’t ever shown any signs of injuries. Except I have noticed within the last few weeks that he has been walking funny. His back legs spread and bouncy. I thought maybe he had injured his back and I didn’t have a vet to take him to and besides the clearly uncomfortable walk he was eating fine and drinking and sleeping just fine. However I took him out today and decided I needed to investigate further for any injuries. I noticed his testicals are much larger than normal and they look bruised, bloody beneath the skin. I read that this may be because of heat but I’m not so sure.. it’s scary and I am worried about my friend. I have been a terrible friend to him because I had to go away for a while and wasn’t around to take care of him for months. My family was not attentive. I want to make it up to him and I am so worried for his health. I know I should take him to a vet but I don’t have the money to do so not do I know of one in my area. Please please please give advice.

My Russian dwarf hamster is nearly 4 years old and I have notice in the last few days that it's left year looks like it has a big scab on it and looks a little swollen. Unfortunately she doesn't allow you to pick her up now but can stroke her. Not sure what this could be. I did have a photo and showed it to a vet. To which they replied she doesn't have long left now so we probably wouldnt treat her.
