The Eglu Cube makes light work of the weekly clean. Inside chickens have a large roosting area fitted with a slatted floor. All the droppings fall through the slats onto the new larger slide out dropping tray, which can then be simply emptied onto the compost heap. Remove the back panel and you can also remove the nesting box, roosting bars and partition for cleaning. In less than 5 minutes (Watch our video) you can have your chickens coop spotlessly clean.

The Eglu Cube is low maintenance too. Unlike wooden housing, you do not need to treat your Eglu Cube - saving you time and money. Made from energy efficient polymers using modern construction techniques, the Eglu Cube will last for years and at the end of its life can be 100% recycled.

The Eglu Cube is a really secure chicken house. The 6ft run is made from strong steel weld mesh, impossible for predators to break. A unique anti-tunnel skirt sits flat on the ground and prevents animals from digging in. The run has spacious vertical sides and gives your chickens plenty of room. The Eglu can be positioned on grass or any other surface such as wood chippings or rough ground where the chickens can rummage.

The unique tunnel-proof panels have been proven in rigorous testing to be predator resistant. The run means that when you are out and about you can be sure that your chickens are safe. The dark green PPE coating is fused to the metal wires ensuring an extremely durable finish that looks great. The standard 6ft run is suitable for up to 6 chickens. The run can be extended in approx 3ft lengths to suit your requirements allowing you to keep up to 10 chickens.

Collect fresh eggs using the Eggport

Collecting your eggs every morning is a daily delight and the Eggport on the side of the Eglu Cube means it couldn’t be any more convenient. You can get up to 12 eggs per week from 2 hens so if you have a large flock you’ll have plenty of eggs for cakes, Sunday brunch and Omlets!

The roosting bars are designed for maximum comfort for your hens when they are perching at night. Unlike houses with a single roosting bar there’s no danger of injury for larger, older or recovering hens from jumping up or down from the perch. In addition the roosting bars let all the droppings fall through to the tray underneath keeping the floor that the hens walk on cleaner. The bars can also be simply lifted out for cleaning.

A purple Eglu Cube chicken house in a well kept backyard Chickens make a wonderful addition to your backyard

Ideally your garden should have a fence all the way round. This will prevent your chickens from wandering into the neighbours garden and, more importantly, ensure that all the eggs are laid on your side of the fence! The fence should be about 1.5m (5ft) high.

If you do not have grass, it is possible to keep a couple of chickens but you must provide them with a layer of wood chippings to rummage about in as this will give them the right type of surface underfoot.

A very good bit of kit - Tony, Hampshire,

A little pricey but ultimately you get what you pay for. Very well constructed and very pleased with the product that has been in use for a month. Provided it lasts it will be a very good investment. Although there is no door at the rear of the run beneath the Eglu, access can be gained by closing the door and removing the rear panel, perch panel and tray. The chickens did tumble rather undignified down the ladder when the door was opened after their first night in the Eglu; however, within 48 hours they had mastered the art of going up and down the ladder. With the previous wooden coop they were used to just jumping in and out.

- Cheryl,

We love our Eglu Cube. It is very solid and well made. The chooks also love their new home.

Worth every penny! - Molly,

My main concerns when purchasing a coop were ventilation, winter warmth and ease of cleaning. After owning this coop for a full hot summer and an unually cold Pennsylvania winter i can say it has been excellent. This coop is so easy to keep clean! The fact that it is actually clean as well as virtually odor free after cleaning is awesome! My chickens are happy and healthy! I love the portability the wheeled base provides. I am very satisfied with my purchase and intend to expand my flock this spring..

Excellent product - Jennifer,

It makes all the difference to be able to move the run so easily.1 small issue is that the run door catches are not as strong and easy to use as the door catch on our old eglu run.

Great Chicken Coop - Jim,

I live in an area surrounded by forests...I've lost chickens to snakes, raccoons, opossums, hawks, foxes and other predators. I've had my two hens in the Eglu Cube Mk2 now for months without any problems. The coop has survived a hurricane (tied it down). I like the engineering and the strength of the coop. Although tedious to put together, I highly recommend, to any backyard chicken owner. The coop will save you a lot of grief...and money (in the long run) while providing an easy on the eyes design that will be a compliment to most any back garden.
