Yes, you can attach an Omlet Catio to your house, many of our customers have and you can see how in the customer images below. Please note that these are all DIY solutions as we don't currently offer a ready made solution, so speak to a specialist to make sure it's done safely.

Do I have to have the anti-tunnel skirt attached?

No. The anti-tunnel skirt comes with all runs, whether they be runs for chickens, rabbits, or cats. You can choose not to attach it or remove it whenever you want.

Can I place the door anywhere on the run?

Yes, the door can be positioned anywhere on the enclosed outdoor cat runs.

Which size outdoor cat enclosure should I get?

The size of run you need depends on how many cats you’ve got, the size of your cats and how much time they are spending in the run. Always aim to give your cats as much space as you can. I have a very uneven lawn, can I still use the Outdoor Cat Run?

Yes, you can secure the skirt of the Outdoor Cat Enclosure to the ground with Omlet’s screw pegs to make sure there are no gaps.

Can the run be moved?

It is possible to move the run, but due to the high quality materials even the smallest runs are relatively heavy. If you decide to move the run, we suggest asking for help from at least one other person.

How high is the door?

The full height door is 5 ft. 11.2 in.

Are outdoor cat runs for indoor cats only?

No, there are a number of reasons why you might choose to have a catio. You might have a cat that normally roams freely, but will need to be supervised for a period of time due to illness, injuries, pregnancy, risk of theft etc. An outdoor cat enclosure is a great way of letting them be outside, while still keeping them safe.

Can I attach an Eglu to my Outdoor Cat Enclosure?

Yes, all Eglus can be connected to the large outdoor catio with a connection kit. For the Eglu Cube and Eglu Go UP, the Eglu must have a 6 ft run in order to attach to the run.

How can I extend my run?

The run can be extended to two sections high and three sections wide, but there is no limit on how far the run can be extended lengthwise. It is only possible to extend a half height run height and lengthwise, the width is limited to two sections.

What are the dimensions of the mesh?

The lower half mesh is 0.9 x 2.9 in, and the upper half mesh is 1.9 x 2.9 in.

Can I keep kittens in the catio?

Due to the size of the mesh you may need extra protection added to the top half of the run if you want to keep a kitten or very small cat in the catio, like additional mesh or cat run covers. The need for this depends on the size and breed of your cat, as well as their willingness to climb. Please make sure you supervise your cat while they are on the catio, especially as they are getting used to it.

Can I replace the horizontal support poles of my 9 ft wide run with the Freestyle poles?

Yes, that is possible. However, one of the purposes of the support pole is to slightly push the roof up to make sure rain doesn’t gather at the top of the run and put too much pressure on the roof.

For runs without covers this isn’t a problem. If you have covers on the roof of your run and want to swap the support poles for a Freestyle pole, place the pole as close to where you had the support pole as possible, and make sure water runs off the cover as it should once assembled.

If you live somewhere likely to get heavy snow fall and have covers on your run, we suggest keeping the cat run support poles.

Do the run panels have a new design?

From April 2023, the panels of the run come in two pieces, attached together with run clips. This is to reduce packaging and to keep shipping costs as low as possible. The stability and integrity of the run is unchanged, and the assembly process remains the same, the new design just makes it quicker and easier for the product to be shipped straight to your home. I bought this after weeks of doing my homework on catios I decided Omlet was the one for us ordered it and was delivered very quickly. I had studied the video on how to assemble it so had a rough Idea I put it together myself took me a good few hours to do now my fur babies can spend time in the fresh air looking at all the birds they are loving it

Just bought and assembled this extra large catio (24 foot long x 9 foot wide). Everything fitted perfectly together and lots of clips provided. Quite impressed how sturdy it is when fully assembled. Would recommend putting some extra cable ties here and there for extra permanent security. My cats absolutely love it, and it is still a usable place for us to sit out in and enjoy the sun. Would highly recommend this product.

I bought the catio for our house cat to have some space to move about outside. Used the Youtube videos to help construct the catio and it took around 6 hours to complete it is a safe space for our cat. The cat is happy in the catio and we bought a pole and steps for him to climb on and will now start to add to his catio so he gets more stimulatio

Easy to assemble, spacious - Seattle, Washington, 13 April 2023

I shopped around a lot for catios and wanted an option that I could assemble without hiring help or needing to buy extra tools, and this was a great fit. Arrived in several boxes none of which was too big/heavy to handle, and I was able to assemble my 2x2x3 catio solo, tho there were a few spots that would have been easier with an extra set of hands. I read another review that recommended supplementing the included clips with zip ties and I agree with that, the Omlet clips are easy to use and reposition, but can come undone - I prefer the security of a zip tie that won't budge. I placed mine up against my patio doors and attached it to the house with galvanized steel conduit straps - this let me omit the catio wall that would have been flush with the house and keep everything sturdy. Overall the catio is fairly sturdy, it's plenty enough to defend against the local raccoons, but I might consider another option if I lived someplace more rural where coyotes and bobcats were a safety risk - I don't know that I'd trust it against larger and more determined wildlife. Really happy with the space and love that the cats get safe outdoor entertainment!
