Taonga -

I hope the reviewer Marc is joking with his review above. No-one should even think of keeping kākāpō as a pet. They are taonga, or treasures, to be helped and not owned. Please consider making a donation to kākāpō recovery at https://www.doc.govt.nz/our-work/kakapo-recovery/get-involved/ if you are in any way interested in keeping these wonderful birds from extinction.

kakapo parrot as a pet -

One of the rarest specie of parrot birds of all is kakapo. which is flightless Only 124 animals remain in the wild—the species has been largely wiped out by introduced predatory mammals such as feral cats. Now tamed to home pets for singing and talking is excellent.
