My one pair laid eggs and properly sitting on them but after two three days other male and female budgies disturbing the breeding pair deprived them to sit on their nest and hatch the eggs ultimately she stopped to hatch and other pairs constantly entering into the nest and try to destroy them and indulge in fighting to occupy the place and breeding pair abandon the nest, what should I do please suggest, I have three pair in a single big enclosure.

My budgie laid 3 eggs and all of them have hatched. The cage seemed a little cramped so i recently shifted them to a bigger cage. Now i notice that the mother is not going to near the babies to feed them. What do i do?

My budgie lays up to 8 eggs without success, they all die some hatch but the chicks die. This is her second batch...plenty of food, water and cuttlefish for them. Are we doing something wrong?

I have just started breeding my budgies and I hand rear them I've sold quite a few and there very tame I really enjoy it.. I have one female called Millie she has laid 5 eggs two have hatched the same day and I have another female budge who is not maternal and dropped one egg while sitting on the perch and laid another egg in the breeding box but she left it there and does not keep going in there to keep it warm so I have put it with Millie eggs so she can keep it warm but I will be keeping an watchful eye..

Hens discarding eggs. Budgies are said to have keen sence of temprature. And when fostering eggs to a different hen it would be ideal to preheat the egg to the disired temprature and then foster it. Else the egg might be discarded.

According to your article. Note: a single hen will occasionally lay an infertile egg. This is a sign that her hormones have gone through the mating season motions in the absence of a male, and is nothing to worry about. The hen will not fret or attempt to incubate the egg. Simply remove it, and that’s that. I only have the one bird and she most definitely laid an egg and she is attempting to incubate it and won't let me anywhere near it.
