I have a new budgie. I keep seeing on other budgie websites that certain fumes are toxic to budgies. Things like scented candles. Air freshner sprays and reed diffusers. Perfume. Cook wear. Cooking. Hair straighteners. Ironing. I'm not going to do any of these right but the cage but some sites say not in the same room. Some say keep the doors shut. But with cooking and bathroom freshner and so on. It's very difficult. He seems ok. But I am worried. Any advice please.

Hi, thanks for the great info in this guide. Just a question on the amount of space required for budgies. The 130x130x65cm dimension mentioned for 10 budgies is fairly consistent with the 65,000cm3 mentioned earlier in the info, but the 650x650x325cm for 50 birds seems gigantic. Is the 65,000-100,000cm3 this best gauge? I’m trying to get a feel for a reasonable max number for an aviary 1.8x1.5x2.0m.

Hi, you mentioned earlier on in your article that a roof and two walls would be sufficient, however later on you mentioned fraught proofing. I am planning on a 3mx3m aviary with clear pvc room and boarded rear wall + 1/3 of both sides. The rest would be wire mesh. Would I need more or could I get away with sheeting over in the colder spells?
