How do you know if you have males or females I have had 2 for 2 years

I just saw someone post a question about making a home made blend. That's what I'm going to do but I'm going to winco instead. I'm thinking of picking 3 to 5 of grain seed and grass seed (so 6 to 10 different seed). I'm planning to weigh the grained together to make 1 lbs and then weigh the grass seed to make 1 lbs. I might adjust it to make a larger portion. Not sure but thatll be my ratio. Then I'll just pick out 1 to 2 junk food seed that I keep separately as a treat. I think the measurements that way are pretty good not too much, not too little.

Very interesting article. Despite I did not understand the all. I am not fun of a pelleted diet. Most of them are made in a heating temperatures. Are those mixes of the veggies parts really a realiable source of multivitamins? I would doubt. I have a good experience now with melica uniflora grass and their seeds, budgies love that. I would be affraid of pellets like also the vitakraft seed sticks due to a possible kidneys damage. So, do not offer that.

Can i make my own daily seed blend instead of buying it already premixed at the store? Anybody tell me if i got to walmart and buy these seeds?

I have a catastrophe to report. Normally, we feed our Budgies on straight white millet, daily grass heads, coral grit and a weekly ‘budgie garden” The budgie garden consists of prostrate lawn grass and white millet. Usually the garden is four weeks old and the millet 15+ cms tall. The birds eat the grass within a couple of days and spend the rest of the week topping up their mineral needs from the soil. But due to a glitch in the system we gave the birds a garden with millet about 2-3 cms tall. Some birds died instantly and ten days later we are still having deaths...in all 2/3 of our birds have died....adults and unweaned chicks An internet search mentions nitrate toxicity in millet under 15cm tall

Hi, I have benefited very much from this valuable information because I am a new amateur in the world of canaries and I thank you for your effort.

They are certainly nor harmful? Pellets? How do you know that, author? Did you make any research?
