History
You can read about the Persian breed here. This beautiful cat - often known simply as Himalayan cat, and called Colorpoint Longhair in the UK - originates from the USA. It first appeared in the 1930s, the result of a ten year-long breeding program aiming for a long-haired cat with Siamese markings.
